In class today we discussed the three types of muscle fibers: Fast Glycolitic, Fast Oxidative, and Slow Oxidative. All there muscle fiber types have their usefulness. The predominance of our fiber type is determined by our genetics, and this is explains why some people have a “natural talent” for long distance running or sprinting a 100m dash. The second half of today’s discussion looked at muscle develpment through the ages and different disorders.
